I can watch this over and over again! In the movie Wheels on Meals (Kuai Can Che) Jackie Chan and 6 time kickboxing world champion Benny “The Jet” Urquidez square off in one of the most legendary film fights of all time.
This scene is realistic portrayal of a fight between two world class competitors: one a fierce no nonsense mixed martial arts fighter who doesn’t lose, and a more flashy kung fu genius who must adapt and overcome to survive.
This is a finely crafted film fight that actually shows off the actors amazing moves and isn’t just a bunch of fast edited cuts with sound effects, an example of why Sammo Hung is the greatest action director / fight choreographer of all time. With Sammo, you always are totally clear about what’s happening.. no shaky cam, no unnecessary closeups during the fight and logical editing that flows effortlessly though the action. Sammo should be studied by American directors in learning how to construct a fight scene.
