Xena (Lucy Lawless) pulls out all the tricks in this historic throwdown with frequent deadly backflips and vicious weaponry including her mighty broadsword and signature circular blade known as a Chakram. The word Chakram comes from Sanskrit and means round, circle, or wheel. Earliest references come from the Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana (here the Sudarshana Chakra is the weapon of the god Vishnu). It was used by Indian armies, mostly by Sikhs (who have it on at least one flag) and is resistant to the effects of wind due to its aerodynamic shape.
The Warrior Princesse’s original Chakram was actually the Dark Chakram. By combining it with the Light Chakram, Xena made the modifed version, which can also be used for hand-to-hand combat. The Chakram of light is powerful enough to slay gods and has dispatched many a fan-boy.
Xena/Lucy Lawless!!! I love you for making this entry…and having her on the banner no less, great picture you used by the way (I’m so tired of that samurai mid riff picture the internets always insist on using. Back on topic — one of the best fights on X:WP. Notice that Kill Bill seemingly has a LOT of similarities with Xena (character and show) and Tarantino has been quoted to be a big Xena fan.
